Andrew works closely with his father, extending a family commitment to politics that goes back to the 1800’s. Andrew is available through public clinics every Wednesday from 10:30am until 1pm at the constituency office, and throughout the week by appointment.
Andrew is a former journalist, qualified in Media, Communications, Political Studies and Sociology. He has over 15 years experience as an elected representative, topping the poll in every election since 2003.
First elected to Kilkenny Borough Council in 2003 and re – elected in each local election since then, Andrew served as Mayor of Kilkenny in 2014/2015. He is currently Vice Chairman of Kilkenny County Council, Chairman of the Dog Rehoming Committee and he sits on Kilkenny Civic Trust, the Southern Regional Assembly and numerous other local committees.
Used to dealing with a wide range of challenges because of his work with charities and community groups, Andrew’s experience of housing, social welfare and community is there for you should you need help or advice.
Andrew is an advocate for mental health awareness, anti-bullying, animal welfare and facilities for young people and has been involved in numerous campaigns, using his position as a public representative as a platform.
